ABOUT THE AUTHOR
JoAnn Morris Matthews was born in Fort Worth, Texas. The author lives in Austin, TX, having spent 17 years in Granbury, TX. JoAnn is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI) and attended the Institute of Children’s Literature. Her academic majors are journalism and literature. Avid reading of many genres is a relaxing comfort zone for her. Creating a final manuscript brings dreams to the surface. A writing enthusiast since age 8, she has enjoyed publication in periodicals, magazines, and newspapers. Nostalgic stories, children’s and YA novels are favorite writing genres. Fun, creative reading and writing for Levels 1-6 and camp design are specialties when grandchildren attend Camp Mimi in her home. JoAnn regards time spent with youth as a core quality. Kids thrive on some “silly” in their lives. Serious adults need to add some fun “silly” to their existence.
